Professional art studio, Scottie in mags, UPDATE

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 4, 2009, 9:33 AM

Argh, Green Day was fucking incredible. Video's are up on YouTube, and are also linked on Green Day Authority. Best. Night. Ever. London was incredible too, never been somewhere so built up before, the stadium is huge! Lost my hearing for quite a while afterwards, and spent £70 on merch. But, fuck it. AMAZING night!
Like it was said on the night, i was like Tarzan in the big city.. almost x] I nearly went to the Garage where they // FBHT were playing, but i really needed to get back home again as it was a 4 hour drive so we decided to go home instead - dont think my back would be up for the major crush in a tiny gig, even though id bloody enjoy it! :p

Another great thing is today i was lucky enough to wangle my way into getting two pre-sale tickets to the manchester Green Day gig in june next year - i am SO psyched! The tickets dont even go on sale until friday/saturday so i am totally buzzing. Major withdrawl symptoms so need to see them again urgently :p I can see i'm going to be spending a LOT of money going to their gigs from now on, hurrah for freedom!

Still no Budgies, but should be getting them soon. All the horses Xmas prezzies are arriving now, including the mass amount of rugs and treats, they do want them really ;) Urgh Pessoa rugs, love them :D

Have horses to clip in the morning, and on friday, then vet's are out to Scottie and jab's for the other two. No vet bill yet, so no doubt will get a mahoosive one, all in one go. Already expecting over £300, thank god my art pays it off :p Fingers crossed it goes well for my little lad

Peace out

25th oct 09

Wow, its been a while since i updated!

Hmmm.. lets see

A family member knows professional artist, Steven Cale, who has advised i go full time professional artist - so i've been speaking to a few people about grants, and to get my studio up and running full time. Big stuff in the works!

Scottie has just been published into several equine magazines for October, so go to your tackshop and have a look! He's in atleast 7 that i know of, very exciting and we're just so proud of him! Its entitled "Scotties return to health"

Kim came over for Burghley in september, we had an awesome time - although still majorly miss her being around, darn you for being in Scotland Kimmy! She even got me on Spud again. Just in his stable and didnt go anywhere, but it was just.. phenominal to be back on him after 2 and a half years!

Rowan and his flipping leg  That healed up and after two months of box rest he was able to go back out again

Leo is 7 months old now, he's a total nutter!

Bluie sadly, i had to have put to sleep a couple of weeks ago, so i updated his phoot on here in my gallery. Feels really weird not having him around, he was the last of the trio =/ he was 9 years old though, so a good age for a Budgie really. I will be getting two new ones at some point soon as Leo is quite lonely

Scottie hasnt been fully sound recently so i've been back in touch with the vets. He's 32 years old now, and is doing SO well considering everything he's been through. Its nice that ive got a good set of vets now. The last 2 lots ive had have been bloody awful. I hate having to pick off vets, but still, just because they are a vet doesnt mean they are right, which in their cases they certainly werent!

Family around for xmas this year, very scary now im in my big house. Thank god theyre bringing the food though, they know i cant cook! :D

Ive got commissions pouring out of my ears at the moment, but keep them coming, im enjoying it

Speaking of commissions, i've got [link] from :icondimmartin: for the boyfriend check it out, its awesome!

Had a pretty crap month this month, so its great to finally see things on the mend and resolving out. 4 pieces of bad news in a week is a bit much!

Going to see Green Day with a few friends on 1st november!

At the moment im going mad getting photos printed. I have so many of my boys!

We're now waning into what seems only like autumn now, even though its nearly november its lovely and sunny outside! Feels more like september to be honest!

Apart from that, everything is going well and fine, the house is really starting to come together now, and im loving having the boys at home. It is just simply perfect! Turk is happy and so are the horses :D

Omg annoying, this is the third time ive typed this out!

Sorry about the title, DA has changed the limits on titles, it should say international event rider xD Read below for goriness XD

Ok so, arty news first!

The event im doing some work with is going ahead next year. If your in the UK and in the south i really hope you consider going to see it. Its an Equine Charity event, im doing some work for the prizes, including the 1st prize for the Horse of the Year class. Just portraits of the winning horse :D

Next!

Im sponsoring an international event rider for her next big competition, she is right next door so i see her all the time riding her horses [and i got to meet the big star himself, Baz!] She has just finished Badminton Horse Trials, and was half way in the dressage. For a bit more info, she was the youngest rider at Peu last year! Shes a lovely young lady and definitely someone to keep your eyes peeled for in the future! More info on that will be posted when its all sorted out!

Next!

I got a new parrot just after my birthday. He is now a 10 week old Cinnamon Green Cheek mutation Conure. He's such a mentalist! He's named Leo!
Has already figured out how to slide down my hair on one foot, throw his food about a third of the way across my lounge at the dog, and lay on his back xDD
I miss April a hell of alot sitill, but im now realising that Leo hasnt replaced him.

Next!

Ive got a TON of prints sorted out, and they look fantastic. Have already sold about 40!

NEXT!

Rowan, that little git. On the 12th [same day as i brought him home, 2 years ago too] Decides to kick himself looning around in the field, and unfortunately severely lamed himself. He was worryingly close to severing his collateral fetlock ligament, as it was RIGHT on the side of the joint. Idiot pony!
Anywho, it would not stop bleeding for over half an hour despite pressure. It wasnt a trickle either, think of a mild tap! The flap of skin was huge, needed stitches but was that torn i didnt think it would help at all once it started to swell, had to sedate him myself. The blood was that caked on it looked like tar.

Vets came out at last and agreed it couldnt be stitched, so left me to bandage him. It still looked horrible a few days later, so he was kept on his antibiotics and painkillers with re-bandaging every couple of days. He was in that much pain still when it was handled he had to be sedated to have it seen to [ up goes the vet bill xD ] 2 weeks go by and he develops a medium sized amount of proud flesh, so back come the vets to surgically remove it. Was a bit annoyed though that the proud flesh had been a little infected due to the shredded skin left over it. They should have cut it away, so was a bit annoyed at myself for not making sure they did that.

At last, it is now healing properly and he is no longer lame on it, although is very very fed up of being on box rest!

He unfortunately has a sarcoid i spotted growing on his ear, which the vets are totally wasting my time about. Ive asked for the chemotherapy cream for it and they still havent go their arses in gear.
In total, his vet bill is currently £391, and will go up again when ive got his sarcoid cream [and no way in hell are they going to come out every time to put it on either ;)]
I've paid about £500 recently on new furniture and things for the house, and just paid £850 towards the house, so not entirely too pleased at more expense this month, however thats what you get when you have horses xD

He's been going out for some nice walks, and i even long-reined him 2 days ago, and he was very good, So hopefully he is back on the mend and will be back to being an idiot in the field again. I have some crummy gory pics ill gladly post if anyone wants to see, or just see the lil man himself [no one likes little ponies -sad-]

Next!

Me and Kim are doing Burghley horse trials! I can not WAIT! Not a clue how were gonna get there, there is 3 of us going, and my pickup only travels 2, so someone is gonna have to go in the back with the dogs. And seeing as its my car, BUT i cant drive, it will most likely be me -glare- However, good news as it means Kimmy is coming down from Scotland to spend about a week in my new luffly farmhouse, in her very own room. Shall i hide something nasty in her bathroom? :P

Next!

I've been getting Turk to do alot of retrieving work in the pond recently, and hes really loving it! He's swimming out about 40feet to get the dummy now, hes such a good lad! Hopefully at this rate he will do his Gundog Grade 1 exam soon!

Next!

Ermm.. There is more to add, but ive partially forgotten it now, so ill update later :P

My birthday today, Art exhibit, Conure....

Journal Entry: Wed May 6, 2009, 5:28 AM

Well, sorry for not updating sooner. Although not many people read this anyway, so.

I've slowly slipped back into my spiral after losing April, i spent atleast 3 weeks hardly doing anything apart from cry. My poor little budgie looks so alone without April there now. Im going to get myself a Conure soon, theyre a small type of parrot. So i will need name suggestions for him too

Im trying to drag myself out of it now, although im still finding it hard to.

Im also unhappy because its my birthday in 2 days, i know i should be happy. But i wanted to be riding again by now, and its been over a year since i could have had my op. Just feels really shit. *sigh* Plus it has technically been ruined by something im just too upset about right now to post on here. But hell, what else is fucking new.

The better news...

I have some 'good' news regarding my art. Im doing some art prizes for a friend's horse event raising funds for an equine charity she works with. Im also doing a commission of the winning horse in the horse of the year competition too,
The lady who runs the event is also commissioning me of her daughters horse, so thats pretty good. I will be able to exhibit my artwork there too.

I will post lots more info including dates and the website of the charity when it is all more organised [very early days yet] if anyones interested.

Its nice being back outside where i belong again. I keep picking up lots of things that i used to have around me every day, and then didnt have near me at all when i moved away from the country. Now im back out in it, im loving it so much. The taawny and barn owls at night, all the wildlife, mountains of space for the horses, its great.

I have about 2000 new photos if you want to see my lovely place too

Take care everyone. xx

Broken hearted... RIP

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 24, 2009, 7:07 AM

Jesus christ..

I thought moving here would be amazing, and it has been.. but..

My little cockatiel, April, who ive owned for over 12 years, a month off 13, suddenly got ill 3 days ago. He stayed fluffed up and looked unhappy, he was rushed to the vets several times, including at around 1am last night, he had a chest infection that had suddenly reared its ugly head

My poor, poor baby was too weak to fight it, and he kept deteriorating, even though we crop-sac fed him at the vets and he was on anti biotics.

I took him back to the vets this morning with a very heavy heart, after sleeping on the floor next to him by the fire trying to keep him warm

There was nothing more i could do, and had to make the awful decision to have him put to sleep before he suffered too much

The wonderful cremation people let me put him in a casket without cremating him

I am absoloutley fucking heart broken. April chose me over 12 years ago, and had learned so many songs, whistles and different things to say, all the tapping on shiny things, flirting at me, fluffing up on my shoulder, asking constantly to be tickled on the back of his neck, loving his reflection, stealing my pencils, calling for me, eating only walkers cheese & onion crisps.. the list is just endless

Im just.. speechless.. my eyes are so raw from crying for 3 whole days

I just fucking miss him so much.. it doesnt feel right without him in my home

THE WORLD IS GOOD ONCE AGAIN. :D ha sorry

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 10, 2009, 11:01 AM

WOW

Well, i moved!
It took a week longer to get the net back too *growl*

The house is AMAZING
The stables are AMAZING
The whole place is ok.. joking, it's AMAZING

Argh its just what i needed.

The past two years have been shite, and its been really difficult to cope. For the past year and a bit, i've sat down, felt sorry for myself, and ive been unable to rise again.

Yet atlast, i had angels bring wings to my feet

Moving, in just a day, made a big change to my horses. We all hated the livery yard we were at. Spud is back to what he used to be, Scottie is acting even more like he is 4, instead of 31 years old, and Rowan is really maturing nicely
Turk is loving all the open space, and is being quite well behaved

I have an equine swimming pool, a horse walker, a 60x30 arena, a tackroom, 5 large stables, atleast 7 acres to rotate my horses around in, and all the space in the world to get lost in

It hurts i still cant get back on and ride, but this is the start of something new and amazing
it's just what i needed all along. The boys travelled really well. Seeing Spud again in the field made me so upset, i felt so guilty at losing myself for so long, but he, like always, has brought me back up again

And last night,

After i finished my tea,

I walked outside, onto my yard, walked into Spuds stable,
he rested his nose on my shoulder, for the first time in so long, and blew gently in my face, i smiled, for the first time in a long, long time,

and at long long last,

I felt i was home

My house. The little white building to the right of the house is the indoor equine pool

Taken half way down one of my paddocks, looking back up to where the house and gate is, was taken while splitting the field in half with tape

Scottie and Spud in their stables

Rowan

Have over 400 photos, so may post more later, who knows :P
